SYA's Field Operations staff is comprised of highly trained engineers, scientists, hydrogeologists and technicians. Comprehensive services range from solid waste management facility planning and permitting to complex multi-media site remediations.

Examples of our field services include:
Hazardous field operation activities are conducted by personnel who have completed the required OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 training and are enrolled in a medical monitoring program. Employees are trained in health and safety, first aid/CPR and site management.
- Field investigations, including surface sampling, soil boring, groundwater monitoring well installation and fugitive emission monitoring to gather data necessary for developing solutions to environmental contamination situations.
- Feasibility studies of candidate remediation technologies to identify and evaluate effectiveness, risk reduction, implementability and cost.
- Remedial design and implementation utilizing waste treatment technologies such as air stripping, waste stabilization/fixation, in-situ biodegradation, chemical precipitation and rotary kiln incineration.
- Subtitle D landfill design, permitting and construction management.
- CKD management plans, implemetation, and agency communicaton.
- RCRA closure/post-closure activities for particular units or for an entire hazardous waste management facility.
- RCRA Corrective Action activities at solid waste management units (SWMUs) including RCRA Facility Investigations (RFIs) and implemention of corrective measures.
- Computer modeling of groundwater contaminant transport or leachate migration to support proposed remedial actions.
- CERCLA RI/FS activities resulting from Administrative Orders or Consent Decrees.
- Underground storage tank program management including removals, closures, risk assesments and insurance fund reimbursement activities.
- Phase I/Phase II assessments meeting or exceeding the standards outlined by the American Society of Testing & Materials (ASTM).
