The Perma-Fix Northwest facility is located on 45 acres in Richland Washington.  The site houses offices, laboratories, and processing facilities for the treatment of Low-Level Radioactive and Low-Level Mixed Waste.  The site houses both a Low-Level Radioactive waste treatment facility and a Low-Level Mixed waste treatment facility which are licensed under NRC regulations (State of Washington licenses WN-I00393-1 & WN-I00508-1) and permitted under RCRA regulations through the State of Washington.

The LLW facility encompasses approximately 70,000 square feet and can treat more than eight million pounds of solid, liquid, and wet waste annually. This facility, which has a radioactive materials license, uses both thermal and non-thermal technologies and can treat most common waste streams generated by the commercial nuclear industry, utilities, hospitals, Department of Energy nuclear facilities, and other government institutions and agencies.

The MLLW facility encompasses approximately 80,000 square feet and has operations permitted for the treatment of highly regulated wastes at a capacity of approximately 21 million pounds of waste annually. This facility, which has RCRA and TSCA permits, and a radioactive materials license as needed for treating mixed wastes in compliance with Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR), is a one-stop shop for nearly all waste management needs.
