Comprehensive Capabilities

PFF Office

Hazardous and Mixed Waste Processing

We are licensed and permitted by the State of Florida to treat a variety of mixed characteristic and listed waste soils, liquids, sludge, and debris to meet Land Disposal Restriction (LDR) standards and/or other disposal objectives. In addition, PFF is permitted and licensed for bulking and other pretreatment of mixed wastes.

Our newest technological capability is an evaporator as treatment of radioactive waters. This treatment results in over exponential volume reduction, saving clients in disposal fees and reducing landfill footprints.

Additional capabilities include:

  • Stabilization, Neutralization, and Deactivation
  • Solidification and Macroencapsulation
  • Labpack Processing
  • Sort and Segregation
  • Solvent Extraction/Debris Washing

Hazardous and Universal Waste

 Industrial Waste Processing Chart

PFF has processed hundreds of thousands of pounds of hazardous waste!

Industrial Waste Processing

PFF receives and processes more than 1,500 containers of non-radioactive, hazardous waste per month.

These waste containers consist of Industrial Hazardous waste, Medical and Pharmaceutical waste, and municipal waste. Markets include:

  • Automotive Repair Shops
  • Fabricators and Restoration
  • Schools and Colleges
  • Painting and DIY Providers
  • Marine and Aviation Maintenance Shops
  • Hospitals and Dentists, Doctors' Offices, Clinics
  • Municipal Waste Collection Sites

Research and Development Laboratory

PFF

The Heart of Innovation

We operate a state-of-the-art R&D Laboratory that develops treatment formulas for specialty waste streams.

The Laboratory allows our team to perform treatability studies to ensure a safe, cost effective approach to resolve our clients' most complex waste management challenges.

The staff has been successful in applying technologies and treatment processes to safely manage and dispose of many of the Department of Energy's no path to disposal wastes (formerly known as Orphan Wastes) thus allowing for storage facilities to be decommissioned saving significant cost to federal clean-up programs.

Dedicated Team with Extensive Knowledge and Expertise

PFF

Our team at PFF works together to provide a safe and productive work environment contributing to the successful completion of our clients' most challenging projects.

We handle a diverse set of waste streams, including:

  • Radioactive waters, oils, sludges, and solids
  • Solvents (halogenated and non-halogenated)
  • Organic-bearing aqueous wastes
  • Corrosive liquids
  • Used oil

THERMA-FIX GEN3

PFF
Therma-Fix Gen3 is the culmination of 25 years of technological advancements, desorption-specific waste processing experience, and regulatory knowledge. The electrically heated batch oven system has an operating range of up to 1200°F under a 29" Hg vacuum and uses a tray system to permit discreet segregation of customer waste. Therma-Fix Gen3 heats low level waste and mixed low level waste to remove organics and recollects them as condensate. The vacuum allows lower temperatures to facilitate removal. Remaining solids are tested for LDR compliance and condensate is treated thermally.
