Diversified Scientific Services, Inc. started as a small privately owned company in 1987. The first waste shipment arrived at the facility in 1991 and since that time the gates have never closed.

By November 1991, the small company had been enveloped into a larger company. This lucrative partnership continued until September 1, 2000 when DSSI was acquired by Perma-Fix Environmental Services. Since that time, the union of DSSI & Perma-Fix has enhanced our way of doing business beyond our own expectations.

Although many things have changed since 1989, our loyalty and dedication to our customers have remained constant. It is difficult to find a company in this day and age as people-oriented as we are. We know each customer by name and we understand that each relationship is unique and requires special consideration.

The only thing that has changed over time is our technology. We proudly boast the only industrial sized mixed waste boiler. This boiler is supported by state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained personnel. It is because of this equipment and our dedicated employees that 3.2 Million Kg of waste has been successfully processed at the facility with no incidents.

Waste delivered to DSSI is thermally treated and the residue is disposed of at an appropriately licensed and permitted disposal facility. Through beneficial recovery of thermal energy, the waste that would otherwise be stored produces a useful product (electricity) while accomplishing a substantial waste reduction
